The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating an arson case that occurred on September 24, 2001 at Kinder Care Child Care located at 1700 Corporate Drive Birmingham, AL. (Highway 119 just South of U.S. Highway 280 near the Meadowbrook Post Office).
The cause of the fire was determined to be petroleum based products inside the building. The fire was discovered around 2 a.m. Investigator's would like to speak with anyone who may have information regarding this case or who may have been in the area and observed anything unusual at the business.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating an arson case that occurred on October 31, 2000 at Klub 280 located at 7136 Cahaba Valley Road Birmingham, Al. (Highway 119 just north of U.S. Highway 280.
The cause of the fire was determined to be petroleum based products inside the building. The fire was discovered around 7:30 p.m. Investigator's would like to speak with anyone who may have information regarding this case or who may have been in the area and observed anything unusual at the business.
Guy Kirby was last seen in the vicinity of the town of Shelby on March 13, 1975. Kirby is a white male and at the time of his disappearance was 48 years old, approximately 240 pounds, with black hair. Kirby sold shoes in the Shelby County area and often hitchhiked around the county.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of Hernan Rojas Torres in Birmingham, Alabama. Sheriff's Deputies received information of a body floating in the Cahaba River near River Road off of County Road 13 in west Shelby County, on August 12, 2002. When Deputies arrived they discovered that Torres had apparently been murdered by a single gunshot wound before being dumped into the river.
Torres was last seen in the Centerpoint area of Jefferson County on the night of August 11th. He stated that he was going to a Hispanic nightclub in west Birmingham. He disappeared later that night. His vehicle had been stolen and it was later located in the Bessemer area. Investigator's have followed numerous leads in this case, however the suspect still remains at large.
The Alabama Governor's Office has issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of Willie Earl "Bo" Bedford of Columbiana. The Sheriff's Office was notified by Columbiana Police on December 22, 2001 that a male subject was found slumped over in his vehicle on Horton Farm Road, just outside the city limits. Deputies arrived and determined that the victim had apparently been murdered by a single gunshot wound.
Investigator's have followed numerous leads in this case, however the suspect still remains at large.
