Human Remains Identified
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, at approximately 11:32 A.M., deputies from Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of possible human remains in the area of Twin Creek Drive, in the Shelby Community. Investigators responded and examined what appeared to be an adult human skull at the location. An additional search of the surrounding area was conducted, however no further remains were located. The skull was removed by the Shelby County Coroner’s Office for forensic testing and identification.
The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has identified the remains as Steve Jerome Vick from Columbiana, Alabama. Mr. Vick was last seen by family members in early November of 2017 and was reported missing on January 2, 2018.
