On May 7, 2022, at approximately at 10:42 PM, Shelby County 911 received a report of burglary in progress in the 400 block of Hillandell Drive in North Shelby County. During the incident, it is believed that the suspect discharged a firearm. Prior to deputies arriving at the scene, the suspect fled into a nearby wooded area.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Hoover Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies have an increased presence in the area and are currently searching for the suspect. The suspect is a black male and is possibly wearing a dark colored shirt.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and the Sheriff’s Office urges anyone in this area to lock their doors and immediately report any suspicious activity to 911.
